Lash Extensions vs False Lashes: what is best for you?

Lash Extensions vs False Lashes: what is best for you?

Good lashes give you that transformative power of fresh, fuller, and brighter eyes. But if you are not blessed with naturally long lashes, there are emerging services in the market such as lash extensions, to help you achieve that perfect long and perky eyelashes. You can also use false eyelashes or strip lashes for a quick and one-time fix, without any need for mascara.

If you are undecided between the two, here are some reasons to help you choose the ultimate eyelashes:

Lash Extensions vs. False Eyelashes

Lash Extensions

This would easily give you that “made-up” look without any effort. These are semi-permanent individual lashes glued on top of your real lashes by a professional lash technician or lash artist. For a full set, it usually takes about 1 to 2 hours, while refills or relash appointment takes 30 minutes to 1 hour depending on how glam you get it. The price ranges from PHP 500 to PHP 2,500 also depending on what salon you get your appointment. With the right aftercare, it can last up to 4-6 weeks.

With extensions on, you never had to worry about your lashes taking off during an event or retouching it with your glue. Unlike false eyelashes, you just had to get one and never worry about applying one on a daily basis! Lash extensions are the perfect option if you are going on a trip or if you are super busy.

This should also not harm your real eyelashes if you are taking care of your extensions. Remember, you can’t get your eyelashes to get wet for 48 hours after an appointment with your lash artist. Be careful about removing eye makeup or cleaning your face. You should also avoid rubbing your eyes as it can tug your extensions causing a fallout.

False Eyelashes

These are synthetic or natural fibers attached to your natural eyelashes creating a fuller and more dramatic look. A pair of falsies are very lightweight and easy to use. With just a lash glue and applicator, you can easily put one. This also offers different styles from natural-looking or wispy lashes to full glam for a striking or sultry look.

These are perfect for one-time events, special occasions, or just because you wanted to put one. Of course, it takes practice for that quick and easy application of falsies, but you can wear it every day and just take it off when you want to. You may also add a coating of mascara if you want! When used with caution, falsies can also be reused a couple of times as long as it still in shape and sticking well.

So, which is better?

It is a fact that lash extensions require more maintenance but since it is made with lightweight material giving you a comfortable and great look. You could also suffer from bloodshot eyes due to an allergic reaction to the adhesive, so make sure to get your eyelashes done by a certified lash technician.

While the falsies can be worn for up to 12 hours only and you can simply remove it anytime and reuse it a few times. There is also a risk of discomfort from the glue used if the placement is incorrect.
