How to Slay Your Own Graduation Makeup

How to Slay Your Own Graduation Makeup

The day that you will walk across the stage and get your diploma is excruciatingly exciting. It is now time to plan how you going to slay that day with your look! Hiring a professional makeup artist for certain events can be pretty expensive and will not always be within our budget. So, if you are graduating this year and thinking about doing your own graduation makeup, there are tons of tutorials you can watch online to help you.

In this article, we collated the tips you can use to elevate your look and look like a star.

All about that base!

We cannot highlight enough the importance of your base makeup! Make sure to take your time to prep your skin and use a primer. Pick the foundation that will match your shade and has enough coverage to last for a day! We know how long this ceremony will go. Also, remember to check if your base is clear for any SPF. We don’t want you looking like a ghost when flashed by a camera! SPF is the main cause of flashbacks, and we don’t want any of that.

Blend, Blend, Blend!

When applying both your cream and powder products, make sure to blend properly. You would hate seeing harsh lines of contour or blush on your face after you took a selfie. Apply your bronzer in the right places to ensure that you get that bronze look. Bring some of your makeup on your neck too! You can take a damp beauty sponge and go over your face, you will be stunned at how put together you will look after this.

Take that wings out!

A cat eyeliner or winged eyeliner is your go-to for a perfect eye look. After applying the eyeshadow of your choice (please let it be soft smokey eyes!), use a black or dark brown liquid eyeliner to strike that line. This will help level up your look by giving it a natural and bold vibe, all while emphasizing your eyes. You can also add false lashes and waterproof mascara to add drama and glam to your eye makeup. Again, WATERPROOF mascara. We don’t want you to be the girl in the graduation who has a black eye after crying like a river.

Shine and Shimmer!

That day is literally your time to shine. You need to glow brighter than those medals they will be giving away to Latin honors. Apply your highlighter on the right areas you needed to highlight such as your cheekbones, brow bones, bridge of your nose, and inner corner of your eyes. You can also add a gold shimmer to your eyes for a more dazzling look. This will make your face beautifully pop even more!

Set it and Get it!

After putting your powder, it’s now time to set it with a fixing or setting spray. Graduation can last for many hours, and we don’t want the makeup you spend a lot of time doing just slipping on the first hour. Set your face and now get that degree!

Alright graduates, make sure to go with what you know and practice the look days before your actual graduation day. Hope that these tips will help you look snatched on and off the camera!
