Bright is indeed the future awaiting the Kakampinks, through Than Perez, a gentleman currently swaying popularity on the internet. The vocal Leni Robredo supporter recently went viral after his uncanny resemblance to Korean heartthrob Park Solomon.
Since many are curious about his whereabouts, Village Pipol had him in an exclusive interview! Let’s get to know more of Than Perez— the newest crush material.
The picture that made him viral
It all started when a wide-reaching fan page shared a snap of Perez giving roses to presidential candidate Leni Robredo. The post made on February 17 caught the attention of more than 430,000 Facebook users as of writing. It was captioned ‘Park Solomon with Leni Sunbaenim!’ referring to how the turning 21-year-old guy resembles the Korean actor.
For context, several K-Pop fans demonstrated their support for Robredo’s candidacy, deriving the sunbaenim witticism. Meanwhile, Park Solomon is one of the lead cast of the lately concluded Netflix series All of Us Are Dead.
Due to the show’s good reception, the young lad rose to instant fame. In the Philippines, being a country with avid K-drama fans, even the casuals adore Park. This is probably why they are astonished to find his yet, closest Filipino counterpart.
Than Perez: A Certified Gwapink
In an interview, Perez revealed that his trending photo was taken on February 14, during their campaign caravan in Katipunan. At that moment, Perez, wearing his pink mask, was handing roses to Robredo. The angle of the photograph unexpectedly made him closely similar to Park Solomon’s visual.
“Nagulat ako actually, nung nagsimula nang mag-trending ‘yung photo. Tawang-tawa lang ako then naglabasan na ‘yung mga Korean fan pages. Sobrang good vibes and laughtrip nung mga nasa comment section.”
Before the incident, Perez told us he received similar compliments after an Instagram post sporting his new hairstyle. Although unsure of admitting his likeness to Park, he acknowledged that it must be because of his Asian features.
And to avoid possible false impressions, the fans are responsible for branding him as the Park Solomon of the Philippines. The actor and the much-talked-about series were both news to him.

While his spotlight moment resulted from a comparison, Perez has his own charisma.
The native of Bocaue, Bulacan first competed for pageants and started his modeling career at age 18. He has also tried being a talent. So, if ever presented with a showbiz opportunity, he assured not to waste it.
Aside from actively speaking for his political views, Perez revealed that environmental preservation is advocacy close to his heart. Currently, he is a member of the organization Mga Gwapo for Leni. Such a man of true essence!
But as many are eager to find out, what is this gwapink’s relationship status?
“Sorry guys! Hahaha but I am in a relationship already. We’ve been together for three years na. She’s fine naman, (his girlfriend) very supportive and may tiwala naman siya.”
Above is Perez’s proud answer when asked about his love life. But to clarify the claim that he is engaged with his girlfriend, he elaborated:
“Actually, hindi pa po kami ikakasal. It is more of a promise we look forward to once we become successful and stable. That is my mindset. Sa relationship, gusto ko the first day that I love her, she will be my last.”
To end, Perez spoke of his advice for the upcoming 2022 elections. Despite each having their personal preferences, he hopes that everyone will be wise voters.
