Liza Soberano, Enrique Gil original picks to lead ‘Hello, Love, Goodbye’ according to Olivia Lamasan
Olivia Lamasan revealed how the original picks to lead the blockbuster Hello, Love, Goodbye were Liza Soberano and Enrique Gil.
It could be recalled that the 2019 film by Cathy Garcia-Molina starred Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards.
Lamasan, who served as producer of the film, made the revelation in an interview with Toni Gonzaga on the latter’s vlog last Sunday, October 17.
She told Toni,
“Originally, LizQuen ‘yan, eh. LizQuen, then it became Kathryn-DJ [Padilla], and then Kathryn-Alden.”
Lamasan revealed how Liza could not able to do the film because of her obligations with Darna, at the time.
Eventually, Liza left the production for the film adaptation of the comic book series due to a finger injury.
Moreover, Lamasan, the managing director of ABS-CBN Films, met with fellow creatives when she planned on doing a new overseas Filipino worker (OFW) story with Star Cinema.
“Liza was doing Darna at the time so I gathered creatives [and told them] ‘Sige, isip isip tayo.’ Patayo na ako and biglang: ‘What’s our next ‘Milan?’ What’s our next ‘Anak?’ What’s our next OFW story?”
Hello, Love, Goodbye marked the first project of Kathryn and Alden, who belonged to rival networks ABS-CBN and GMA-7, respectively.
The film focuses on domestic helper Joy (Kathryn) and bartender Ethan (Alden) who both work in busy Hong Kong.
Both fall in love with each other, despite having different plans for the future.
Hello, Love, Goodbye broke records in 2019, becoming the highest-grossing Filipino film of all time.
