You’re Filipino if you like to eat with your bare hands.

This is one of the traits that Filipinos are most known for. Foreigners are always shocked when they discover that we can eat without any flatware. Hence, we can even eat using banana leaves. Surely, you’re Filipino if you consider eating with your hands more appetizing.

You’re Filipino if you say “Colgate” instead of toothpaste, and “Pampers” instead of diapers.

As a child, we used to buy toothpaste by saying “Colgate” even though we tend to buy other brands. The same goes for Pampers. Probably, this is because these are the brands that are well-known among Filipinos.

You’re Filipino if you do “Mano po” towards elderly people.

“Mano po” is a sign of respect to us, Filipinos. This is the gesture of putting the back of the elder’s palm on our forehead, while slightly bowing. Additionally, we also use “po” and “opo” when talking to older people. ‘Mano po” is a counterfeit of “beso-beso” or kisses in foreign countries.

Growing up, Filipinos’ number one fast food chain is Jollibee. As we all know, Jollibee calls their fried chicken “Chicken Joy”, and undoubtedly, all Filipinos love it. That’s why, every time we see fried chicken, we say “Wow, chicken joy!”
