We have witnessed the growth of Emma Watson as a child actress in the Harry Potter film series. But likewise, to her character in the wizarding world, Watson was a dedicated scholar who prioritized education before her fame. She attended The Dragon School in Oxford, one of the top preparatory schools in the United Kingdom. Watson also participated in many school drama and theater performances as a child. 

In between filming for the franchise, Watson attended Headington School in Oxford too. She managed to get 10 A’s in her General Certificate of Secondary Education or GSCE results. Afterward, achieving straight A’s for A Level (Advanced Level) Examinations.

But her impressive education doesn’t end there. Watson graduated from prestigious Brown University in the United States, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in English Literature. Meanwhile, she also went to the University of Oxford, as part of her third year. Indeed, a living Hermione!

A Dedicated Humanitarian

Emma Watson is known for her activism and advocacies. The well-spoken actress became the UN Women Goodwill Ambassador at the age of 24. She launched the UN HeForShe campaign to promote gender equality. But the way how determined Watson is, she further pushed the said campaign to universities. UN Women released the HeForShe IMPACT 10X10X10 University Parity Report, where 10 global universities committed to instilling new programs and policies for gender equality on their campuses.

Watson also served as the ambassador of CAMFED International, a non-profit organization that supports education and empowers marginalized young women in Africa. She also went to Bangladesh and Zambia to promote young girls’ education. As well as coming to Uruguay to emphasize women’s rights in political participation.

Moreover, Watson is popular for her sustainable fashion picks even on the red carpets. She opts to wear vintage dresses, organic clothing, and recycled materials that help on saving the environment. The actress even launched a clothing line collection for People Tree, apparel that aims for sustainability and fair trade fashion. What a good heart Emma Watson has!

A Creative Filmmaker

Not just a muse on the screen but Emma Watson also tries out the work behind the camera. During the lockdown because of the pandemic, Watson learned filmmaking.

Watson created a short film featuring the artist Emma Webster, posted on the latter’s Instagram. As expected by Watson, the film tackled women’s empowerment and environmental activism.

However, the actress makes her official directorial debut in the Prada Paradoxe campaign as she fronts the new women’s fragrance. Watson tells the paradox of being a woman in her film. She proves how talented she is by acting as the director, writer, narrator, and performer on it. We definitely stan a multifaceted woman!

Truly, Emma Watson serves as a good inspiration and role model to everyone. She shows many sides of her—a muse, scholar, activist, and filmmaker.
