The crown-worthy creations of Louis Pangilinan for Michelle Arceo
ICYDK, our latest representative, Michelle Arceo placed 1st runner-up at Miss Environment International 2022. Held in Mumbai, India on Saturday, April 2, it is the inaugural edition of the pageant.
Michelle did an outstanding job and shone brightly during the finals even though she came close to winning the title.
Days after the pageant, Michelle expresses her gratitude in an Instagram post for the endless love and support she continues to receive. She even hints that this isn’t the last time we’ll see her.
Crown or no crown, she looks like a Queen, all thanks to the works of Louis Pangilinan. The renowned pageant designer was the one behind her beautiful evening gown as well as her award-winning national costume.
‘PAG-AHON’
Pangilinan describes the gown, which features a geometric arrangement of beads, crystals, and sequins, as a true story of an empowered woman. Further stating that it is a representation of what a true environmental warrior entails.
‘THE PEARL OF LAO TZU’
Aside from bagging the runner-up position, Michelle also won Best in Environmental Video and Best in National Costume.
It takes inspiration from the long-lost pearl of Lao Tzu, the world’s largest pearl that was unearthed in the Palawan. The deep blue sea ball gown has hand-embroidered and embellished with hand-painted art depicting the “Pearl of the Orient Sea”.
With such a strong showing and spot-on wardrobe, the future definitely is bright for Michelle. Congratulations, Queen! You made all of us proud.
