Tech Review: realme c33

realme, one of the best brands of smartphones, has released another variant of its C-series. Introducing the realme C33! This is quite an interesting device because of it sleek design, camera, and other features. Let’s know more about this phone with this review.

Unboxing

With realme’s signatured yellow-colored box, the design marks the brand. Inside, we have the following items: the realme c33, quick guides, sim ejector pin, charging cable, and the adaptor.

Design

Without further ado, the realme c33 has a sleek and elegant design. It has a mirror design where you have this stunning light effect when you move it on different angles. A cool and absolutely fantastic design indeed! What we have is the Aqua Blue variant, but the realme c33 comes also with the Sandy Gold and Night Sea variant.

At the back, we can see the realme branding on the bottom left corner. On the top left, however, we can see the esteemed dual-rear camera.

In front, situated at the top center, is the teardrop front-camera and the call speaker on top of it.

On the right side, we can see the power button but does not support fingerprint unlocking, which is somewhat a let down. On top of the power button is the volume buttons.

Looking on its left side, it only has the triple card tray for two nano-SIM cards and the external microSD card.

At the bottom, we can see the loudspeaker, microphone, 3.5mm audio port, and micro-USB port for charging. We can see nothing on the top part, however.

The realme c33 is easy to grip with its edgy design and it is quite thin although packed with a big battery. It does not support also IP68 or water proof which I think is understandable because of its price.

Display

The realme c33 has an IPS LCD with 6.5 inches display. It has a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels with a pixel density of 270 PPI. It only has a 60hz refresh rate which is a downside for avid gamers. Although the colors are accurate some details on pictures are not that smooth but bearable. As for all LCD smartphones, it also has some difficulty in viewing angels and for broad daylight usage. But all in all, it does produce a better quality display with its price.

Multimedia

Watching videos using the realme c33 has been a “thumbs up!” for me. It has good quality display, but much better if you are watching on a darker place for a better viewing. The quality of its audio is good and the clarity is much better. Putting the volume to its max is really impressive even with only a single speaker.

OS and UI

The realme c33 is running on realme UI S based on Android 12, with an internal codename of ‘Snow Cone’.

These are the features that you can expect with the Android 12 of realme c33. Personal, Material you, Dynamic colour, Responsive motion, and Conversation widgets. It also has Accessibility improvements, Mic & camera indicators and toggles, Approximate location permissions, privacy dashboard, and Private Compute Core. It is pretty much Effortless and safe to use, enhanced gaming, and has a scrolling screenshots.

Performance

This smartphone is powered by Unisoc T612 Octa-core Processor paired with Mali-G57 GPU, 4GB RAM, and 64GB of ROM. Opening apps takes just a moment with a bit of multitasking. I would expect that when more apps are installed or heavy gaming, it would take a toll on its speed and responsiveness as it have a 60hz and a 4GB ram.

Gaming

Using the phone on online games like mobile legend has a few drawbacks. Although it is very responsive when it comes to control there are also some occasional hiccups especially when you use it on the highest setting available. It has good graphics but not that smooth. While using it for sometime, I also felt a heat up on the backside but not that alarmingly hot. Let’s have a look at some of my game moments with the realme c33!

Nevertheless, this smartphone still lives up to my gaming expectations and got to win another victory.

Battery and Connectivity

Boasting its 5000mah of battery size, this smartphone will really give you ample of time to enjoy. Be it gaming, watching videos, listening to music, social media, or more, it won’t disappoint. However, with its battery size, it does not have fast-charging feature. The Realme C3 is only capped at 10W charging speeds which takes more time to have a full charge.

The realme c33 is packed with the usual connectivity features like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, and 4G LTE.

Camera

Finally, the realme boasts its rear camera with 50MP (wide) + 0.3 MP (depth)! A good buy for its price! It has an image of 1080p and video of 1080p@30fps. Let’s have a look on some of this rear camera photos!

Its front camera, however, has only 5MP. Although having only a 5MP front camera, it won’t prevent you from having a good selfie.

There’s some slight skin smoothening even when not using face beauty mode, but it’s still okay. It’s still a factor having great skill in taking your good side and some trial to have your best selfie with the realme c33. Nevertheless, I really enjoyed taking pictures with realme c33 and I would literally bring it with me all the time in case I need to capture a once-in-a-lifetime moment.

PRICE AND AVAILABILITY

The realme C33 will first be available in 4GB+64GB storage variant for only P7,499.
