Rewards await Smart subscribers upon SIM Registration

SMART sim registration

A convenient and rewarding experience awaits Smart Prepaid and TNT subscribers when they register their subscriber identity module (SIM) cards in compliance with the SIM Registration Law. Smart launched a portal where they can complete the process and listed easy steps to serve as a guide.

As posted on their social media accounts with the aid of publication materials, the three steps are:

  1. Visit smart.com.ph/simreg
  2. Input your information
  3. Wait for an SMS confirmation and get 3 GB Free Data

To avoid missing the SIM registration period, Smart also sends texts to remind its subscribers, all while promoting the freebies on the way.

The portal uses optical character recognition (OCR) to capture the text from uploaded document IDs. It is a law-required technology that gathers and protects the personal information of subscribers.

For postpaid subscribers who have previously submitted their personal information and valid IDs upon application, they only have to text YES to 5858 to confirm.

Smart Subscriber Experience

Last December 28, a Smart Prepaid subscriber registered her SIM card and shared her experience with us. According to her, the entire process is easy and can be accomplished within a few minutes.

“They gave me a control number a few minutes upon registration. Less than 24 hours after, they texted me again to confirm my activation,” she shared. “Aside from the promised free 3 GB data, they also give Unli Allnet Calls and Texts valid for one day.”

Alternative Channels

To those who find it difficult to keep up with the online process, Smart provided alternative channels to register their SIM cards. The channels include Smart stores nationwide, Smart Hotlines, Smart Facebook Messenger Chatbot, and Smart GigaLife App. Moreover, their customer service is ready to assist when you contact (02) 8888 1111.

Republic Act 11934 or the SIM Registration Law mandates users to register their SIM cards in order to combat the proliferation of text scams. As of January 9, there are 7.7 million SMART subscribers who had registered.
