Replay Button: Sistar’s Bop Songs that we still listen today

Sistar still dominates charts in all music platforms today as people never grow tired listening to their bop songs. As a second generation group, the girls are well known for their contribution to the hallyu wave. With catchy and upbeat songs, the group earned the title “Summer Queens” and until present, we continuously stream their songs even after their disbandment.

With that here are the lists of songs of Sistar that may sound nostalgic but still bop as ever:

Touch My Body (2014)

Like the best K-pop, the 2014 hit included current pop music trends (saxophone riffs, trappy snares, rushing synths), with undeniable sunlight emanating from it in a way that only Sistar had mastered, most especially in this song. With its incredibly approachable, inviting sound and Technicolor music video, “Touch My Body” should ultimately be a requirement for anyone curious to dip their toes into the K-pop scene. Nevertheless, Touch My Body serves as a strong, infectious example of Sistar’s contemporary, carefree vibe.

Shake It (2015)

It’s a nostalgic, summer-inspired mega song, which feels especially fitting given that the majority of the world has enjoyed sunshine and clear skies this week. The track’s most notable performers are Hyolyn and Soyou, whose voices are loaded with a strong and distinctive tone ins Sistar. Shake It sticks to Touch My Body’s format while doubling the hooks and eschews a conventional chorus in favor of a relentless barrage of melodic high points and appealing hooks.

Alone (2012)

As Sistar matured on the music scene, offering a sleeker, sexier sound that drastically changed how people perceived them. One of the most recognizable parts of kpop continues to be the breathy, synth-drenched introduction. SISTAR has been able to display a fresh and modern side of themselves while still retaining their unique character thanks to their “Alone” metamorphosis. “Alone” will undoubtedly solidify Sistar’s position.

 Loving U (2012)

It’s intriguing to consider how Starship can disperse some of the verbal attention that has primarily been focused on Hyorin. A beautiful bridge that completes the song and elevates it above “catchy” and into summer anthem status gives Soyu a few shining moments that radiates through the whole group of Sistar.

I Like That (2016)

For their final formal promotion as a group, Sistar changed a few things. The rock-influenced “I Like That” gave the group a rough image that fans appreciated as a change from what they were used to seeing from their regular, upbeat hits. The song shouldn’t be dismissed out of hand, despite the fact that it doesn’t have the same exciting punch as Sistar’s best songs. It provides yet another example of Sistar’s versatility.
