Rei Germar shares 3 designer bags first-time buyers should look out for
With no pun intended, collecting designer bags are indeed a luxury.
While it is quite an out-of-touch subject, it is nonetheless a good form of investment and a great way to reward oneself. Just ask our resident bag lover Rei Germar.
Already in her three years of collecting designer bags, Rei is definitely the person one should go to for any bag suggestions.
Just recently, Rei uploaded a Bag Collection Q and A where one question was about any recommendations for those planning to collect designer bags.
In response, here’s what she suggested.
Bags fit for a newbie
Prada Reedition
The Pochette might appear overrated since it exploded last year, however, the multi-pochette is distinctly different but still carries the same vibe.
A revamp of the 2005 Bandoliera Tessuto, it is more commonly called the “Prada Hobo”
For those interested, Rei recommends buying the black one.
Balenciaga City
In her 2021 bag collection video, Rei mentioned that Balenciaga City would always be her first answer when people ask her about purchasing a luxury bag for the first time.
She further explained that the reason why is because unlike other bags under the brand or other brands in general, the Balenciaga City isn’t as ‘loud’ or overwhelming to use.
Although pricy, it does, however, go on sale from time to time.
Goyard
If you’re the type of person who’s always on the go, Goyard might just fit your lifestyle.
As Rei describes it, Goyards are low maintenance but very functional. It is spacious, can fit a lot of things which is perfect for traveling or everyday use.
In her video and this picture, Rei can be seen owning a Saint Louis PM Tote Bag.
