Quezon province is known for its rich coconut plantation and rice farms. This is also home to picturesque islands and rugged mountains, making it a place that attracts nature enthusiasts year by year. Falling in love with the province is not a difficult feat after traveling and talking with the locals.

Away from the chaotic shimmering of city lights, as well as from the hustle and bustle of big crowds, Quezon truly is a province worth visiting if you’re getting tired of the tumultuous cityscape.

Allow me to take you on a journey devoid of colors to the province close to my heart. Reliving the simplest moments, appreciating daily living, and capturing into mind the beauty of culture and tradition in Quezon province

Where the Sun Meets the Sea

Who said that the beauty of a sunset can only be seen through the lens of colorful hues? Perhaps what drew me most is that the beauty of black and white reveals the simplicity of the instance where the sun meets the sea. Looking back, I took this photo while wearing shades, even with that, I was able to appreciate the art that nature created at that moment.

Humble Abode

Life in the province doesn’t have to be extravagant to be fulfilling. The pure and sincere dignity that the people I met during my stay made me realize that there is more to life than materialistic goods. A simple nipa hut reflected more warmth and comfort than a big apartment complex in the city. That in itself, in all respect is the humble living I can only wish to experience.

It’s simply remarkable to witness moments I could never see in my daily life in the city. Sadly, we were so invested in advancements in technology that we don’t appreciate much the beauty and dignity that humans’ strongest companions have. This photo was taken so that anyone who views this would revel at the moment we otherwise take for granted.

For The Feast

I was fortunate to attend a wedding ceremony in Quezon province. Not only that, but I was also able to witness the preparation for the feast. It was a big celebration and 9 grown pigs were slaughtered to feed the visitors. I couldn’t help but capture the end for these animals, however, would mark the beginning of the feast and celebration for most attendees.

It’s a moment I would have never witnessed in the city, therefore I wanted to capture it as memories and my last form of sympathy for the life that was lost.

Sweet Harvest

The abundant coconut plantation in Quezon is one thing, but their sweet and rich-tasting pineapples are to die for. Not once in my life have I tasted pineapples as sweet as the harvest from Quezon. When I was taken to witness the reaping, there was just no way I would let the moment pass without keeping it as a memory.

Albeit short, the fleeting moments of my journey in Quezon province will be kept in these photographs. Images alone would not be enough to describe its beautiful culture. Therefore, in order to fully understand the charm of Quezon, one should not set aside visiting the province.
