Pinoy musical ‘Rak of Aegis’ to be streamed online soon

It’s official! The hit Pinoy musical, “Rak of Aegis,” will soon be available online. Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) made the announcement on Friday, saying that “Rak of Aegis” will be streamed via Ticket2Me from July 31 to August 8.

The said musical, which features songs by rock group Aegis, had seven successful theater runs from up to 2019.

The musical, which features popular Aegis songs, such as Sinta, Luha, and Basang-basa sa Ulan. Meanwhile, this also features performers Aicelle Santos, Derrick Monasterio, and Kakai Bautista.

It also posted a different version of the show’s poster, with the text: “Because the world needs to hope again.”

PETA’s “Rak of Aegis,” which ran for seven seasons, is based on the hit songs of the Filipino pop-rock band Aegis.

It tells the story of the townsfolk of the fictional community of Barangay Venezia. The story is led by an aspiring singer who dreams of becoming a YouTube sensation.

The musical debuted in January 2014 and ran for seven seasons. In fact, its recent run closed in September 2019.

The Filipino musical is written by Liza Magtoto and directed by Maribel Legarda, the artistic director of PETA. The musical direction, arrangement, and vocal direction are under Myke Solomon.

Some of its principal cast members from the seven seasons include Aicelle Santos, Kim Molina, Pepe Herrera, Jerald Napoles, Kakai Bautista, Isay Alvarez, and Robert Seña.
