Pia Wurtzbach is taking time off from work to focus on her family, health, and preparations for her upcoming marriage.

On Monday, the Miss Universe 2015 winner announced the decision on her Instagram page. She said she would stay in London to give time to her loved ones and space for herself.

“You guys must be wondering what I’m doing here in London. I went on a wellness break for a few weeks to check up on ME. I’m grateful to have this time OFF,” she wrote.

Wurtzbach explained that getting off from work commitments is always challenging, considering the responsibilities. Yet, she acknowledged the need to pause and ask ourselves: “Kamusta na ba ako? Okay pa ba ako?”

Hence, the beauty queen is now focusing on her health while getting in touch with her family. “Namiss ko talaga not just to spend time with them but actually do life with them. I also want to focus on a major life event. As you know, I’m getting married soon!” she added.

With Wurtzbach deciding to focus on her health and marriage, the consequence is shelving work and earlier plans. One of those is her supposed participation in the 2023 London Marathon, which she has decided to postpone.

“Unfortunately, I’m not going to be able to join the London Marathon this year. I contemplated for a long time. I wanted to do it this year because I was doing it for a good cause, and I didn’t want to disappoint anyone.”

However, Wurtzbach emphasized that training for 4-6 hours daily for the event while pursuing wedding-related tasks will be stressful.

“So tough as it may be, deferring my entry this year is the right decision. Getting married is something I wanna focus on first, and (to) enjoy preparing for the wedding stress-free.”

Meanwhile, Wurtzbach said she would tackle in another post how to raise funds for the surgery of over 70 children with cleft palate. She hopes to help the non-profit organization Smile Train to provide free corrective surgeries for patients with orofacial clefts.

“Going back, I hope you guys are doing okay. And kung hindi naman, I hope you are getting the support you need. As for me, balik Pinas na tayo soon— healthier, stronger, and ready to be back in action,” Wurtzbach ended her post.

Pia Wurtzbach is engaged to entrepreneur Jeremy Jaunce. The two revealed their engagement in March last year.
