Olivia Rodrigo teases new music in her Instagram story

Olivia Rodrigo has indeed made headlines as the new music sensation of this generation and now she has hinted at her highly-anticipated comeback in the music scene. She revealed just recently that she’s working on “new songs” in celebration of the second anniversary of her hit song drivers license.

Released on January 8, 2021, Olivia’s debut single Drivers License took the world by storm. She signed with U.S-based music labels Interscope Records and Geffren Records in 2020, oblivious to the success that she will be receiving the next year.

The single went on to be a smash hit, garnering over 1.6 billion streams on the music platform Spotify.

In addition, according to a report from Florida-based publication WRMF in April 2022, the song was certified five times platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).

Last Sunday, January 8, the deja vu singer thanked her fans for the success of her breakthrough single on an Instagram Story. Olivia was spotted with music producer Dan Nigro headbanging to a song at an undisclosed recording studio. In the photo, she wrote,

“[W]orking on so many new songs I’m excited to show u! Thank u for everything.”

We are absolutely excited about it as she got a hold of our hearts with the magic of her solo debut album Sour. Ever since then, young kids and adults alike have been ecstatic about the music that she will be making in the future.

Aside from drivers license, she has indeed solidified her career with other hit songs in the album including deja vu, brutal, and good 4 u. Olivia first gained recognition after starring as Nini Salazar-Roberts in the Disney+ series High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, which also featured a song that she’s known for, namely, All I Want.

We’re now ready for another hit, Olivia. Our ears are ready!
