Sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine has always been loved by the fans of the genre ever since that I Want It That Way clip became viral. That opening is just one of the show’s comedic genius. While some may argue that Brooklyn Nine-Nine is police propaganda, the show’s characters definitely snatched a lot of hearts. Brooklyn Nine-Nine revolved around Jake (played by Andy Samberg), Amy (Melissa Fumero), Charles (Joe Lo Truglio), Rosa (Stephanie Beatriz), Terry (Terry Crews), Captain Holt (Andre Braugher), Hitchcock (Dirk Blocker), Scully (Joe McKinnon-Miller), and Gina Linetti (Chelsea Peretti).

“Okay, no hard feelings, but I hate you. Not joking. Bye.” – S01E03, Gina Linetti

Gina Linetti definitely sparked a conversation between the show’s supporters. Some say she bullies everyone but there is no denying that she lives her life to the fullest. Working as Captain Holt’s personal assistant, Gina surely established her role in the precinct. She calls everything as it is – with no holds barred. She voices out her worries. She knows when to demand what she deserves. She also expresses her opinion to help produce better outputs. Despite appearing lazy (and being vocal about it), Gina Linetti knows when and how to help.

“You don’t wanna start a battle of the wills with Gina Linetti because you will emerge from that battle a broken man.” – S04E09, The Overmining

Gina Linetti isn’t only strong-willed. Her stubbornness appears to be negative at times but she believes in herself. She stands by her decisions and accepts the consequences if there are any. Gina’s high self-esteem is usually the root of her problems. Some psychologists she encountered even concluded that her id and ego overlap, making her narcissistic. For Gina, however, confidence makes up for her flaws. For her, being confident is how she hypes up her decisions before actually going through them

“Life is chaos, success is completely arbitrary, and confidence is everything.” – S06E04, Four Movements

In Season 6 of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Gina Linetti’s character arc concluded. She gets together with one of Charles’s cousins and gets pregnant. Now thinking of her baby’s future, Gina decides to aim for a much high-paying job. While doing so, she tries to chase after what she wants in life. Her friends express concern about her decision as it will be risky. Gina, however, refused to listen. She explains to Captain Holt that she knows she won’t get everything she wants. For Gina, people need to be more than willing to try and risk what she’s got instead of just waiting around.
