Overcoming alopecia while gaining confidence
Gizzelle Mandy Uys of South Africa emerged as the Miss Eco International while Alexandria Kelly of the USA got the second runner-up title. Supposedly, Kelley was set to compete in the Miss Eco International 2019 pageant last year. However, the pandemic happened so the pageant was postponed. Because of this, she had to undergo refresher training for the Miss Eco International pageant this year.
In addition to this, Kelley revealed that she has been battling alopecia, an auto-immune disease that results in hair loss. She said that she’ll use her influence as a beauty queen to spread awareness about it to inform others.
Even though Kelley was not able to take home the crown, she put up a good fight. As a matter of fact, she won the national costume competition in the said pageant. Her winning look was a gown with embroidery details and Maria Clara panuelo, a creation of Louis Pangilinan. To complete the look, she wore earrings by Christopher Munar and shoes by Jojo Bragais. She also thanked the team behind her achievement, including stylist Mikee Andrei, makeup artist Mila Gulfan, and hairstylist Jonas Lucas.

She also explored the world of showbiz when she joined GirlTrends, a girl group of the noontime variety show, It’s Showtime.
