It’s BeyDay: What Went Down At Beyonce’s Birthday Concert In LA

Last Monday, at SoFi stadium in Inglewood California, Beyoncé celebrated her 42nd BeyDay alongside 70,000 attendees at the Renaissance World Tour. Spectators flounced in their silver and chrome outfits following QueenBey’s style memo on her website. This show concludes the three-night stand in the city with an iconic birthday spectacle.

Four months earlier, the concert kicked off in Europe, and for this night in California, it’s once again a blockbuster show. Pure joy and love reverberated inside SoFi stadium. A night and a celebration of black and queer culture particularly the Ballroom scene and music. With a giant disco ball dangling atop the stage, a sonically genius take on disco and dance, arresting visuals featuring custom couture and stage-fit looks, and quintessential Beyoncé choreography, this is undeniably the ‘Greatest Pop Show on Earth.’

Below is a recap of what went down at the BeyDay show in LA.

Happy BeyDay Beyoncé

Naturally, main act performers invite other artists for an opening act, minutes before the main act steps into the stage. But for this tour, Queen Bee herself graces the pre show. The 42nd year-old pop star warms up with nearly a 30-minute belting of her greatest ballads and r&b songs. As she steps into the center stage, she then delivers talent and beauty with a custom couture ensemble. For this night, she emerged in a full-lace black corseted sheer gown for a full bombshell moment. On the cusp of her opening act, the SoFi stadium was filled with black and yellow balloons as a warm gesture by the fans in honor of BeyDay.

The ‘Break My Soul’ singer took a moment and held back her emotions, expressing her heartfelt gratitude to the Hives. She then delivered her birthday speech in front of thousands of fans lauding the artist. In her speech, she honored her family, friends, including her co-Destiny’s Child members.

“My soul is full. I’m so thankful, I’m trying not to cry,” she said as she fought back tears. “I’m thankful to be alive. I’m thankful to be on stage. I’m thankful to look out and see your faces. I’m thankful to be able to provide a safe space for all of y’all. I’m thankful for music, for the ability to heal myself through music which then heals all of you.”

Celebrity Weekend in LA

Beyhives were out in full force for the momentous night, and by Hives I also mean Adele, Zendaya, Kim Kardashian and many more stars. Certainly, a night you shouldn’t miss in this lifetime. We’re all fully aware of celebrities attending concerts and shows of some of our favorite stars, but this time a legit long list of A-listers clad in their metallic and silver fashion—Bey is indeed the celebrity of the celebrities. Almost outnumbering the biggest stars who attends the MET GALA (no shade). From Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, to the award-winning actresses such as Zendaya and Angela Basset; they are all up for a night to remember.

Meanwhile, surprise guests also joined Mrs. Carter on stage. After the release last May 19 of the ‘America Has a Problem’ remix featuring Kendrick Lamar, he reunites with her onstage. Albeit performing with a bit of a technical issue—and we hope it’s not another ‘Somebody’s getting fired’ moment—since Kendrick’s mic suddenly went off. He went on with his flow performing whilst the queen continues serving body in her Mugler ‘Bee’ stagefit. Fortunately, the microphone came back on and they still served! And the voguing part? It was such an iconic moment.

Another full circle moment of the night was thee Diana Ross’ appearance onstage. Diana Ross perches atop on Beyonce’s list of her biggest music influences. And her joining and singing her ‘Happy Birthday’ onstage with the crowd, is definitely a night to remember for the birthday celebrant. On a video posted on X (formerly Twitter), Queen Bee was seen running to give Ross a hug and love.

Moreover, the Renaissance World Tour also delivers countless of sartorial moments that proves Beyonce is the Diva. The Italian fashion house garbed her in an iconic house’s Barocco print and metal mesh bodysuit. The whole look was completed with a matching Hat and a thigh-high Versace boots.

Bey also strutted in a new all-chrome look for ‘Formation’ performance. The look features a silver bodysuit with its sinuous cutouts courtesy of Mugler by Casey Cadwallader. “This has to be my favorite ‘Formation’ look.” a fan online exclaimed.

The celebrant also wore a birthday hat during ‘THIQUE’ live performance and fans totally adorned the moment. Surprises capped off with the backup dancers bringing a cake onstage, granting Beyoncé to have her moment as she blew out the candle. Embracing the fervor love of fans, the iconic mother of the House of Renaissance delivered yet another electrifying show and proved that she is ‘World’s Greatest Living Entertainer’.
