P-Pop has now been established in the OPM scene. In its widening surface, many have predicted its imminent expansion of influence. Likely how international music thrives in the global standard, it will soon rise with world-class Filipino talents. To add, the swelling number of sprouting local idol groups is proof of this foreshadowing.

And while the genre distinguishes itself from the usual classification of music we knew, it has also given new flavor to some of our favorite songs! Hence, to let you savor that beauty, below are some of the remarkable P-Pop renditions that are worth listening to:

Bad Romance by Press Hit Play

Bad Romance is a 2009 hit song that is all about obsessive infatuation. And as part of their pre-debut journey, P-Pop powerhouse Press Hit Play (PHP) did a cover of the international pop star Lady Gaga‘s piece.

Although retaining its core appeal, members JP and Zi.O wrote additional Filipino lyrics and rap verses. As a result, a refreshing music relish!

Bakit Ba Ikaw by SB19

Filipino music personality Michael Pangilinan is famous for his ballad track Bakit Ba Ikaw. And of its numerous versions, one that stood out is from the leading P-Pop quintet SB19

The leader Pablo took charge of rearranging the song to be sung by his group. As equally worth noting, it showcased the singing prowess of each member and brought out their harmony as one.

Hanap-Hanap by P-Pop Generation

Who would not know this iconic JaDine duet that continues to give us kilig feels until now? 

Hanap-Hanap is a catchy romantic single popularized by the former James Reid and Nadine Lustre love team. Meanwhile, girl group P-Pop Generation made its most recent cover! By keeping its sweetness and originality, there is no doubt they gave justice.

BGYO, back in their trainee days, did a cover for an ABS-CBN Christmas Special. Aside from performing in their unique style, they did great in those choreographs!
