Douyin Makeup actually pertains to the makeup trend that first went viral on the Chinese app Douyin. Otherwise known as, Tiktok to the rest of the world. It first gained traction as Chinese TikTok creators show the drastic difference that Douyin Makeup has. Where they show the before and after looks in the TikTok posts. Characterized by the doll-like appearance, the Douyin Makeup soon crossed over to different countries. Eventually, becoming a trend that all the beauty TikTok creators are racing to try.

We’ve all seen so many makeup trends pass us by over the years. Since Youtube, beauty vloggers have been able to set trends left and right. We all remember the contour craze that had everyone groveling for contour products. Now, there is Douyin Makeup. Although the trend is not actually a particular technique, but a specific look. Douyin Makeup is most importantly, focused on the eyes.

Washed with a natural color, usually browns or pinks, then layered with shimmer will be the concept for the eyes. Specifically, the eyeliner is the trademark of the look. The eyeliner extends slightly in the inner corner, and winged out. Making sure that the liner is subtle and thin. Lastly, the emphasis on the aegyo-sal otherwise known as the eyebags. Most artist contour beneath the bags, then add shimmer to the middle of it in order to make them pop out.

Then we go to the skin which is just a simple glowy base with a flush of blush to create the bashful look. Lastly, the lips which is another specific look that completes the Douyin Makeup. Rosy colors fill in the lips towards the center then blended outwards.. Additionally the edges fades with either foundation or concealer prior to adding in the color. Top it off with gloss and voila, you’re all set to create your makeup entry.
