DBTK x H&M: A Collaboration That Will Last in Filipino Streetwear

Heads up, people! H&M announced a collaboration with local streetwear brand DBTK or Don’t Blame The Kids that is coming soon in September. This collaboration is going to last, as DBTK takes on the road with H&M in promoting their love for fashion.

This is the first time ever that a global fashion brand like H&M decides to collaborate with local brand DBTK for a collection that purely speaks out of Filipino streetwear fashion. DBTK or Don’t Blame The Kids had a history of collaborations with brands such as Sanrio, Bratpack, Sesame Street, Pokemon, etc. Knowing this, it is only a matter of time before something big is going to happen. Well, here it is, the collaboration that marks another significant achievement for both fashion brands.

Two Peas in A Pod

Both H&M and DBTK consider themselves as fashion brands that highly revolves around streetwear. It is not a surprise that these two brands find themselves having a concept of collaboration. With the hashtag for the collab #StreetwearForAll, you can bet hard that the upcoming design release will feature the best.

The theme of the collaboration revolves around “The World Is My Home”, and it will feature six fun urban pieces that will release on September.

The Tale of Two Brothers and Their Love for Streetwear

The founders of DBTK or Don’t Blame The Kids’ are the brothers Vince and Emil Javier. They started DBTK in 2012 because of their interest in streetwear and fashion culture. Their first shop opened in 2014 and expanded from there as they achieve their goals. Now in the present, through endless grinding, the pursuit of learning, and love for the craft, they just keep on moving past their limits and grow while showing no signs of halting down.
