‘Darna’ movie starts shooting — yes, you read that right

Six years in the making, Darna movie finally starts its shooting. In 2014, Star Cinema announced that they will be doing a movie version of the iconic super heroine with Angel Locsin. However, due to health issues, the award-winning actress had to give up, thus giving the role to Liza Soberano — but it turned that the two actresses had the same fate.

Last year, newbie actress Jane de Leon was chosen as the new Darna, after months of audition and deliberation of Star Cinema. Since then, fans have been looking forward to watch the movie on the big screen.

After it was revealed last that he would be directing Darna after Erik Matti’s departure from the project, director Jerrold Tarog finally got the cameras rolling for the much anticipated Pinoy superhero project. The critically-acclaimed movie maker shared his first day on Instagram. Take a look!

In an interview, Jane revealed her preparation for the role. “Iyong cast, balita ko, nakukumpleto na. Excited na ako ma-meet sila!” Jane said on Tuesday, in an interview with ABS-CBN News’ MJ Felipe.

As of this writing, the management has not yet revealed other cast members of the movie.
