The Miss Universe preliminary evening gown competition is always a spectacle to watch. In that stage of the competition, where the candidates parade in magnificent gowns, elegance really counts.
Indeed, a celestial being was actually spotted floating around onstage! Looking absolutely heavenly, Celeste Cortesi comes out in a beautiful Oliver Tolentino gown.
With an art deco design, it also features two slits which parts the gown’s intricate design in the middle. Thus, creating the right amount of appeal and class that Celeste truly embodies.
Wearing her signature hue, the gown takes inspiration from her name, Celeste which means sky-blue in Italian. A name given by her father; it was also a way of honoring him.
As she stated during her national finals, “In every step on that stage, I would feel his presence right beside me. My guardian angel.”
The preliminary competition will determine the list of semifinalists that will compete for the crown come coronation night. In the end, India’s Harnaaz Sandhu will crown her successor.
The finals of Miss Universe 2022 will be on Sunday, January 15. Taking place in New Orleans, Louisiana, it will be hosted by Olivia Culpo and Jeannie Mai-Jenkins. Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray along with Zuri Hall will serve as backstage commentators.
A job well done, Celeste! We’re proud to have seen you shine. In your journey to win the crown, we’re right behind you, believing and supporting all the way.
