Brace yourselves, Titas and Titos of Manila! Our OG oppas Super Junior might return to Manila earlier than we’ve expected!
Super Show 9: ROAD
Super Junior announced their 9th World Tour last June 4 on all of their official social media accounts. The World Tour will kickstart from July 15 to July 17, a three-day concert, at the Jamsil Arena in Seoul, South Korea. July is still a month from now but ELFs, Super Junior’s fandom name, all over the world can’t hide their excitement! Concert organizers from various countries are reposting the World Tour announcement, triggering more excitement from the longing fans.
How about PH ELFs? Are we ready?
It’s been nearly 3 years since Super Junior last went to Manila. It was December of 2019 when they graced the SM Mall of Asia Arena stage for their 8th World Tour, Super Show 8. Indeed, the power of the KPOP Kings to fill the arena never ceased! As an ELF who has been to Super Junior’s Manila concert twice, I’m confident to say that Super Show 9 will be just as full as their previous Manila concerts.
Why would that not happen, Super Junior’s greatness did not fade one bit! Their performances are still a powerhouse, may it be for a ballad or a dance song. Not just that, their connection with their fans is something really special. Talk about a 17-year relationship! PH ELFs would be a special case in this matter, as their passion to support Super Junior is on a different level! Some PH ELFs even arrive in the concert area 12 hours earlier (no, that’s not me, I swear) to give out or receive freebies from co-fans! And no, fan chants still do not exist in PH ELFs vocabularies as we love to sing along more with Super Junior than do the practiced chants (yeah, it’s not because we’re too old to memorize them).
Let the iponing begin!
Since Super Junior is already a veteran KPOP group, it is an undeniable fact that most of their fans are adults. For most, it is not hard to whip up a few cash to purchase a concert ticket. However, for Baby ELFs, as we call the new fans, iponing is still needed. Thankfully, there are already a few schools that have started face-to-face classes so allowances are back! On top of that, ELFs are a generous fandom in general, as proven by the number of giveaways posted even as early as the World Tour announcement. Concert ticket giveaways are also expected so keep an eye on them! Indeed, the 17-year relationship of ELFs with Super Junior also built the amazing friendship that is the Everlasting Friends.
Of course, we can’t wait!
The thrill of having Super Junior grace a Manila concert stage is unbearable! It’s as if we want them to announce the concert here in the Philippines already! Well, just like the saying says, “good things come to those who wait”, these legends are indeed worth the wait!
Keep an eye on the official social media accounts of various concert organizers here in the Philippines to not miss out on the SS9 announcement!
