7 Heart-Fluttering Moments From Extraordinary Attorney Woo

If you’re experiencing whale couple withdrawal after the end of Extraordinary Attorney Woo, you’re not the only one. After so many tears, laughter, and incoherent screaming from many of its viewers, including me, the K-drama series ended with a heartwarming finish last August 17 & 18.

While there are currently talks of season two, we don’t have to say goodbye to our whale couple just yet. Let’s look back on the top 7 heart-fluttering moments of the show from episodes 1 to 10!

Warning! Spoilers ahead for episodes 1 to 10 of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.

1. Going through the revolving doors together

I was hooked after watching this scene in its titular first episode.

The revolving door is a re-occurring symbol in the series that for me, represents Atty. Woo’s attempts to understand the neurotypical world she inhabits to excel as an attorney. It’s sweet that the first person who attempts to see the world from her point of view is the same person who first helped her use the revolving doors.

2. The iconic wedding dress scene

If anyone needs to pinpoint the exact moment Jun-ho falls in love with Atty. Woo for reference, it’s this scene from episode 2, The Wedding Dress That Slipped Off.

The second episode of Extraordinary Attorney Woo showcases more of her legal prowess and how she and her team slowly understand how to work with each other. This was a stand-out scene in highlighting the blossoming romance between the two characters.

3. In the spirit of Cham-cham-cham

Watching the moment Jun-ho’s face turns apprehensive after Atty. Woo bringing out the wooden mallet will always be funny for me!

Episode 5, The Strife of the Three Brothers, was all about figuring out the truth from the lies. I truly commend Atty. Woo’s straightforwardness with her question, Lee Jun-ho likes Woo Young-woo. Is this true?

This episode is the start of the whale couple seriously considering the possibility of requited feelings by the other, so it’s heart-fluttering to see them slowly (but surely!) advance their love story together.

4. So your heart doesn’t race even when we’re not touching?

Extraordinary Attorney Woo’s writers were brilliant in writing this line.

In the classic K-drama trope of putting the female lead off-guard with a one-liner, this is probably one of my all-time favorites. The effect of this line is so subtle and classy, and it fits perfectly for our whale couple. I was smiling the entire time I watched this scene.

5. My heart rate was really fast

Continuing the Sodeok-dong case and the halfway point of the series, the Extraordinary Attorney Woo pulled out all the stops for our whale couple for episode 8! Who wouldn’t have a fast heart rate after that scene in Atty. Jung’s office? I love how straightforward Atty. Woo is with her words. She tells Jun-ho directly she likes him, and we get to see Jun-ho a little taken aback. I mean, just look at his face after she says it and her cute smile afterward.

6. Your eyelash, it was hard to grab

Out of everything that happened in episode 9, from Atty. Woo being nice to Jun-ho to confuse him with Jun-ho’s heart-stopping confession scene, this scene really takes the cake for me. First of all, sir, it does not take that long to get a single eyelash. That scene was approximately a minute long. It took me less than 5 seconds to get mine off, and I was also having a hard time!

Whale couple fans always say that Jun-ho is the greenest flag in K-drama history, but they should also mention how much of a flirt he is.

7. Loving me is hard

Episode 10, Holding Hands Can Wait, focused on the intricacies of a relationship between a disabled and an abled person, as well as how society views these relationships. Extraordinary Attorney Woo definitely doesn’t shy away from more serious topics.

I consider this scene of Jun-ho affirming his feelings for Atty. Woo despite the hardship they will inevitably face as a couple one of the most heart-fluttering scenes in the series. This episode also features their first date and ends with their first kiss as a couple, which makes the episode extra wonderful.

There are more heart-fluttering scenes in the show as any fan can attest. If you haven’t watched the series yet, Extraordinary Attorney Woo is a refreshing new drama you can watch that tackles themes of love, found family, and individuality. I cannot recommend it enough. For other die-hard fans like me, let’s meet again in 2024! In the meantime, I’ll be busy re-watching everything.
