59th Baeksang Arts Awards: ‘The Glory,’ ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ and other winners unveiled
The 59th Baeksang Arts Awards finally named its 2023 winners in film, television, and theater categories on Friday, April 28.
The awarding ceremony for one of South Korea’s most prestigious price-giving events was hosted by MC Shin Dong Yup, singer-actress Bae Suzy, and actor Park Bo Gum. The event occurred at Incheon Paradise City, with simultaneous broadcast through JTBC Network.
Moreover, nominees for the 59th Baeksang Arts Awards include the projects launched from April 1, 2022, to March 31, 2023. The entries underwent a screening process led by 60 professional evaluators composed of experts in the entertainment industry.
This year, the revenge-tragedy serial The Glory took home the most wins, including the Best Drama title. Its lead actress Song Hye Kyo cliched the acknowledgment for Best Actress, while co-star Lim Ji Yeon was recognized as Best Supporting Actress.
Ultimately, Park Eun-Bin received the Best Drama Daesang or the grand prize for the legal television series Extraordinary Attorney Woo. On the other hand, Park Chan Wook, who helmed the show, received the trophy for Best Director.
