WHERE IN METRO: Visit these places in Manila for free!

The Rizal Park

Starting our list is Rizal Park. Also known as Luneta Park, it is a historical urban park located in the center of Manila. This is where the monument of the Philippines’ National Hero Dr. Jose Rizal is located. Upon entering famous sculptures of different artists depicting national heroes can be seen in the park. A large replica of the Philippine map and the tallest flagpole in the Philippines are also here. Luneta Park was one of the famous parks in the Philippines because this is where Dr. Jose Rizal was executed, resulting in the Philippine revolution.

Walled City of Intramuros

Taking you back in time as you visit the famous walled city of Intramuros. It is built in the 17th century during the Spanish colonization. Also, the Intramuros experience is one of the treasured parts of our culture because everything is well preserved. Most of the places inside Intramuros were bombed by the Japanese during the world war but survived. Fort Santiago, San Agustin Church, and the city walls are one of the many remnants that will make you appreciate the past. The tour is completely free and you will not pay any entrance upon entering Intramuros.

Quiapo Church, Manila

Located in Plaza Miranda, Quiapo Church is one of the most famous churches in the Philippines, and thousands of devotees are coming here to pray. This house the famous Black Nazarene believed to be from Mexico in the 15th century when the Spaniards came to Manila. The Quiapo Church also maintains its fine architecture despite the many typhoons and earthquakes it witnesses. If you have time to visit Quiapo it’s important to pay respect and pray in the church.

Binondo-Manila’s Chinatown

The streets of Binondo are filled with festivity with the traditional Chinese community. Binondo street also locates shops and restaurants that offer authentic Chinese food at affordable prices. Going for a food trip here in Binondo is fun, especially because it shows one of the oldest Chinese communities in the world. 

Sunset at Manila Bay

Manila Bay can be noisy and busy at times but its majestic beautiful sunset is one of the best experiences you can have. Manila Bay is also near the Mall of Asia —one of the largest malls in the Philippines where you can tour and visit.
