Upcoming romantic-comedy Moonshot casts Cole Sprouse and Lana Condor

Cole Sprouse (Jughead in Riverdale) will star alongside Lana Condor (Lara Jean in To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before) in New Line’s romantic comedy Moonshot.

Based on a Deadline report, the upcoming romantic comedy flick will have a sci-fi twist to it. “Mars is terraformed and colonized by the best humanity has to offer,” as they described. A pair of college students join forces and sneak onboard to planet Mars in order to join their partners.

On Wednesday, April 28, in an Instagram post, Cole shared his excitement. It read,

I’m the last person you want to be trapped on a spacecraft with. The timeless @lanacondor and I are making a movie on mars…or at least Atlanta. Very excited to be working with #christopherwinterbauer , @sarahsowitty , @gberlanti , and @hbomax. Lots in the works for 2021

While Lana Condor expressed her own enthusiasm for the rom-com on her Instagram story. She shared Cole’s Instagram post in her Instagram story and captioned it, “Let’s goooo @colesprouse”.

Chris Winterbauer is set to direct the movie while Riverdale executive producers Greg Berlanti and Sarah Schechter will produce. The release for this exciting project is yet to be announced.

The director Winterbauer is known for the Wyrm movies (2017 and 2019) and Bald Love (2015). On the other hand, except for being the producer of Riverdale, Berlanti is also known to be the writer of the hit LGBT movie Love, Simon (2018), and shows such as The Flash (2014 – Present), DC’s Legends of Tomorrow (2016 – Present), Supergirl (2015) and other DC TV shows.

The actor Cole Sprouse is best known for his cute character in the Disney Channel’s The Suite Life of Zack & Cody from 2005 to 2008 and on the CW’s Riverdale as Jughead Jones. Lana Condor gained international recognition for her role as Lara Jean Covey in the To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before film series.
