‘This is me guys’: Jake Zyrus shows off his body transformation through topless photo
Jake Zyrus turned to social media to express his pride in his new body transformation.
On Saturday, the singer took to Instagram to thank his fans and supporters. His new song, Maghintay Ka Lamang, in collaboration with Troy Laureta gained positive feedback.
“Una sa lahat salamat sa lahat ng napakaganda nyong comments sa version ko ng Maghintay Ka Lamang. Mahal ko kayong lahat,” Jake said.
Meanwhile, as he shared his topless mirror selfie, the 29-year-old singer explained that he had struggled with whether or not to upload the shot due to insecurity.
“Pinag-isipan kong maigi kung ipo-post ko ba ‘to. Kasi lagi kong iniisip kung anong sasabihin ng ibang tao. Sa ilang taon na nag-transition ako, masaya ako sa naging takbo ng buhay ko, pero lagi pa rin akong nai-insecure sa katawan ko. Siguro dahil na rin sa standard ng karamihan.”
Jake added, despite the mixed opinions of the public about his transformation, it’s time for him to overcome all the adversities to attain confidence.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that his post serves as a sign for his fellow transgenders to be proud of themselves.
“Para ito sa mga kapwa ko transgender. Kung naghahanap kayo ng sign o confidence para ipakita at maging proud sa kung sino ka, tara sasabayan kita. Para sayo to,” Jake said.
He also affirmed to those who are not ready yet to come out, “Kung hindi ka man handa pa, okay lang din yun. Lahat yan may tamang panahon.”
Lastly, the singer concluded his post by expressing his genuineness to himself. “Well. This is me guys. Mahal ko kayong lahat,” he said.
Jake, formerly Charice Pempengco, came out as a transgender male in 2017 after undergoing breast removal surgery and testosterone injections.
