The Global Masterpieces worn by Chelsea Fernandez

Representing a reigning country at any pageant is a heavy responsibility but for Chelsea Fernandez, it’s all about handling the pressure with ease.

Despite failing to achieve a back-to-back win at The Miss Globe 2022 pageant, her performance is without a doubt flawless. In the end, she finishes her journey with a Top 15 placement as well as bagging this year’s head-to-head challenge.

Fighting until the very end, Chelsea delivered one final blow by wearing an exquisite national costume and evening gown.

Designer Francis Deney Lee drew inspiration for Chelsea’s national costume from Magindara, a Filipino mythological creature.

The blue mermaid-like costume features a crown headpiece, a shell bodice, and a long train for its tail. The entire garment is adorned and dangled with pearls.

In an Instagram post, Lee briefly explains the story of Magindara.

Magindara were believed to be beautiful creatures that dwell in the salt waters of Bicol. some myths say they are the daughters of the deity Asuang. They are believed to be beautiful with the upper body and face of lovely maidens with long flowing hair, and the lower part of their bodies like colorful fish’s tail.

For her evening gown, Chelsea wore a red Leo Almodal creation. Glistening with crystal beadings, the gown is paired up with a bedazzled red rose.

Setting the stage on fire, we definitely agree with Bb. Pilipinas when they said that red is her color.

The Miss Globe concluded its 2022 edition with the crowning of Miss Dominican Republic, Anabel Payano as its newest queen. She succeeds outgoing titleholder, Maureen Montagne of The Philippines. Completing the Top 5 were UAE, Albania, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Huge Congratulations to all the winners but most especially, Congratulations to you, Chelsea! You represented our country very well and we couldn’t be prouder of you.

This is just the beginning and we’re excited to see what you conquer next!
