Tecno Pova 5 confirmed to arrive in PH August 2
Tecno, a rising tech brand, will soon be launching the Tecno Pova 5 in the Philippines. In a video teaser, the brand revealed the release date, scheduled on August 2, 2023. They also revealed a collaboration with Garena Free Fire—a battle royale shooter game.
The Tecno Pova 5 boasts an impressive high-capacity battery rated at 6000mAh that supports a speedy charging rate at 45W.
In just 21 minutes, it can charge up to 50%, and in 66 minutes, it can fully charge your phone. According to Tecno, that’s 25% faster than the previous generation. What’s more, the phone has a nifty 10W reverse charging feature that allows it to double as a power bank.
Powering this device is a gaming chip, the MediaTek Helio G99. It comes with 8-gigabyte RAM and up to 256-gigabyte storage.
For the display, it sports a 6.78-inch Full HD+ screen with 120Hz refresh rate. Flipping onto its rear, it boasts dual cameras with 50-megapixel primary lens. The back panel also flashes a “mecha design” patterned and splashed with minimalist geometric patterns.

Tecno Pova 5 pricing and availability
The Tecno Pova 5 is already listed on both Shopee and Lazada, but the price is a placeholder as of now. Based on the two listings, the 8GB+128GB variant is available through Lazada. While the 8GB+256GB variant seems exclusive to Shopee.
For reference, the Pova 4’s launch price was PHP 7,999. The price of its successor would presumably be the same or not far off.
