Strong women in the 19th Congress

In a male-dominated political arena, these women ruled Philippine politics. They slay misogynists in debates and shut down attempts of mansplaining. When men fail, these women lead the way. And now, these strong women are set to rule the 19th Congress.

The Economist: Cong. Stella Quimbo

Cong. Stella Quimbo is the district representative of Marikina City 1st District. She is a teacher and economist by profession. Quimbo is a classic combination of beauty and brains. No wonder her husband former Cong. Miro Quimbo is head over heels for her.

And in 2019, she captured the hearts of Marikeños. During the sessions in the 18th Congress, she shows power. Cong. Stella offers educational points, especially in hearings and bills concerning the economy. She also stands by a record of pro-democracy votes. Quimbo voted against ABS-CBN closure and the Anti-Terror Law.

And less we forget, she almost became the Finance Secretary for the next administration. She is so good she gains the confidence of people even from the other side of the fence.

It is now official! Our barda queen is now a congresswoman. COMELEC en banc approves Mama Bing as the nominee of her partylist P3PWD.

Guanzon is no stranger to debates. She eats hate comments for breakfast! And guess what? She slays every single person who attempts to diss her. She ain’t Barda queen for nothing!

Now that she is set to walk the halls of Congress, her colleagues must prepare! She is set to join the majority as a constructive member of it. And that means trouble for those who will try to mess up in government!
