The Philippine dining scene continues to gain international recognition as the MICHELIN Guide unveils its 2027 selection for Manila and Environs & Cebu, featuring 127 establishments across the country. From established fine-dining destinations to neighborhood favorites, this year’s selection highlights the growing diversity, creativity, and confidence of Filipino gastronomy.
Announced on October 29, 2026, at the MICHELIN Guide Restaurant Ceremony held at the Manila Marriott Hotel, Newport World Resorts, the second edition features one Two MICHELIN Star restaurant, nine One MICHELIN Star restaurants, 31 Bib Gourmand establishments, and 86 MICHELIN-Selected restaurants.
Among the highlights is FLOW in Makati, which joins the One MICHELIN Star selection as this year’s new addition. The recognition reflects a dining scene that continues to evolve while staying connected to local ingredients, culinary traditions, and regional influences.
FLOW Joins the MICHELIN-Starred Dining Scene
One of the biggest highlights of the 2027 selection is FLOW, led by Chef Kevin Jonathan Uy, which earned its first MICHELIN Star.

Through carefully crafted dishes, thoughtful techniques, and a distinct culinary vision, the Makati-based restaurant impressed MICHELIN inspectors with its quality and execution. Its approach reflects the growing ambition of Filipino chefs to explore new ideas while keeping local flavors and ingredients at the heart of their cooking.
Meanwhile, Helm in Makati successfully retained its Two MICHELIN Stars, reaffirming its place among the country’s leading dining destinations. Led by Chef Josh Boutwood, the restaurant continues to stand out through seasonal menus influenced by his British-Filipino heritage and Spanish influences.

Eight other restaurants also retained their One MICHELIN Star distinctions: Asador Alfonso, Celera, Gallery by Chele, Hapag, Inatô, Kása Palma, Linamnam, and Toyo Eatery.
Together, these establishments demonstrate the consistency and creativity shaping the country’s fine-dining landscape.
Filipino Cuisine Takes the Spotlight
Beyond the starred restaurants, the 2027 selection highlights a stronger expression of Filipino culinary identity.
According to MICHELIN inspectors, chefs across Manila, Cebu, Pampanga, and Cavite are increasingly drawing inspiration from local ingredients, regional traditions, and culinary heritage. Nearly 60% of newly selected establishments serve Filipino cuisine, reflecting a growing appreciation for the country’s food culture.
Gwendal Poullennec, International Director of the MICHELIN Guide, noted that the Philippine dining scene continues to evolve while remaining deeply connected to its roots.
The 31 Bib Gourmand restaurants, including eight new additions and two promoted establishments, further highlight the accessibility and diversity of local dining. The distinction recognizes restaurants offering quality food at moderate prices, covering everything from traditional Filipino favorites to contemporary interpretations of regional specialties.

Meanwhile, the MICHELIN-Selected category now includes 86 establishments, with 18 new additions. These restaurants represent a wide range of dining experiences, from family-run institutions and neighborhood favorites to chef-led concepts.
Recognizing the People Behind Filipino Hospitality
Beyond restaurant distinctions, the MICHELIN Guide also introduced four Special Awards recognizing individuals whose work contributes to the country’s evolving hospitality industry.

Chef Frances Tariga of Tadhanà in Makati received the first MICHELIN Opening of the Year Award in the Philippines. Her restaurant offers a personal interpretation of Filipino cuisine through refined techniques and creative presentation.
The MICHELIN Young Chef Award went to Chef Francis Lacson of Digámo in Marikina, a former seafarer whose modern approach to Filipino cuisine reflects a strong sense of place and cultural identity.
For service excellence, Restaurant Manager Clyde Joshua Zafra of Tito Boy in Pampanga received the MICHELIN Service Award for his leadership and warm approach to hospitality.
Meanwhile, Ron Job Sanchez, Bar Beverage Manager at Automat in Makati, earned the MICHELIN Exceptional Cocktails Award for his creative cocktail program featuring techniques such as fermentation, infusion, clarification, and fat-washing.
A More Thoughtful Future for Filipino Dining
The 2027 edition also introduced Mindful Voices, a new platform that brings together influential figures from the hospitality industry to share ideas and practices shaping the future of gastronomy.
Its first featured Mindful Voice in the Philippines was Chef José Luis “Chele” González of Gallery by Chele in Taguig. The restaurant’s approach to sustainability includes sourcing around 90% of its ingredients locally through partnerships with farmers, fisherfolk, and Indigenous communities.
Its initiatives also include an urban garden nourished by composted kitchen waste, projects that highlight local cacao, coconut, and rice, and a collaboration with the International Rice Research Institute to help preserve heirloom rice varieties.
These efforts reflect a growing understanding that culinary excellence extends beyond what is served at the table. Supporting local producers, preserving food traditions, and practicing environmental responsibility are becoming important parts of the country’s dining identity.
With 127 establishments recognized in its 2027 selection, the MICHELIN Guide offers a closer look at how Philippine gastronomy continues to develop. More than a list of recommended restaurants, this year’s edition highlights the people, traditions, and local ingredients contributing to a dining culture that is increasingly confident in sharing its identity with the world.
The complete MICHELIN Guide Manila and Environs & Cebu 2027 selection is available through the MICHELIN Guide website and mobile app, where diners can explore restaurants by location, cuisine, and other features.
