Pasig, Valenzuela, Antipolo, and Mandaluyong unified QR COVID-19 contact tracing
In the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic last year, the LGU of Pasig headed by Mayor Vico Sotto was one of the local government units that pioneered the use of QR codes in establishments for contact tracing and call it #PasigPass.
Pasig City actually adopted the QR code system that Valenzuela first used. LGUs of Mandaluyong and Antipolo have also made an effort for a seamless tracing system and call them ValTrack, MandaTrack, and Antipolo Bantay Covid respectively.
Meanwhile, in early January, Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian, Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto, and Antipolo Mayor Andrea Ynares forged an interconnectivity agreement at streamlining interconnected digitized contact tracing solutions within their respective areas.
In an effort of local government to have an interconnected COVID-19 contact tracing system and more efficient accessibility for the people. In fact, the city governments of Mandaluyong have joined Pasig, Valenzuela, and Antipolo in unifying their QR code tracing system.
Mayor Vico Sotto of Pasig City has made an official announcement on March 1 on his social media.
“Starting today, you can now use your #PasigPass QR code in Mandaluyong, too!” Sotto tweeted.
Starting today, you can now use your #PasigPass QR code in Mandaluyong, too!

Therefore, with the interlinking agreements of these four LGUs, there would be no need to sign up for multiple contact tracing. Above all, a person registered in any of these applications can now use their respective QR codes from either of the four tracking systems.
In fact, the four LGU are now requiring establishments within their territory to use the tracking system. For instance, if you are in Mandaluyong and want to go to SM Megamall, shoppers are now required to scan their MandaTrack QR codes before they are allowed to enter, as a result only residents of Mandaluyong are allowed inside, but with the signed interlinking agreement, QR codes for ValTrack, Antipolo Bantay Covid and Pasig can now be used in the said mall.
