Paolo Sandejas drops first Tagalog song and music video ‘Misteryo’

This single comes after the success of his recent collaboration with Joey Tha Boy for Feel Alive. Paolo Sandejas comes out of his comfort zone as he releases his sophomore single for 2021 under Universal Records, Misteryo.

To celebrate the release, the young singer-songwriter hosted a listening party. This happened on Thursday, June 17 at 9 PM via Universal Records’ Facebook Page. Subsequently, Paolo also did a live stream on Instagram to kick off the premiere of Misteryo’s music video a week after the official launch.

“It’s always been a goal of mine to release a song in Filipino,” Paolo says about Misteryo and its personal significance to him.

Originally penned in English with an initial title Enigma, the song talks about losing touch with someone. Then, being distant from them that you can’t even read them anymore. In the early stages of his composition, Paolo also finds it challenging to find the right words to finish the song. However, being translated to Filipino paved the way for the rhythm and lyrics to flow out naturally. He even described it as “… it came out better than I imagined.”

Eunice Jorge of Gracenote produced while Darwin Hernandez co-wrote Misteryo. The latter also served as Moonstar88’s Torete composer. The song also leans towards a new alternative rock. Meanwhile, Paolo Sandejas goes on on exploring different sounds and genres that would bring out his own distinct brand of music.
