Nadine Lustre, Julia Montes set to make primetime comeback via ‘Burado’

Kapamilya actresses Nadine Lustre and Julia Montes will join forces to star the ABS-CBN’s upcoming primetime project Burado. Yesterday, February 10, these two versatile actresses attended the story conference of the newest Kapamilya series.

In fact, this project marks the comeback of the two actresses in primetime block, Dreamscape Entertainment Head Deo Endrinal said on his Instagram post.

Dreamscape Entertainment produced all of Nadine and Julia’s teleseryes in the past such as Mara ClaraWalang HangganDoble KaraOn The Wings of LoveTill I Met You, and Asintado.

Nadine’s last teleserye prime-time was Till I Met You in 2016 with ex-boyfriend James Reid as leading man. Meanwhile, Burado also marks Julia’s comeback to primetime after doing two afternoon shows: Doble Kara (2015-2017) and Asintado (2018). The upcoming series is also her second project after 14 months of hiatus in showbiz.

The Cast

Aside from Nadine and Julia, Paulo Avelino, Zanjoe Marudo, and Thai actor Denkhun Ngamnet will also star the project as their leading men.

Also joining the cast are some veteran actors including Lotlot De Leon, Raymond Bagatsing, Carmi Martin, Ina Raymundo, and Joko Diaz.

Angel Aquino, who still appears in FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano, is reportedly part of the project. However, she did not attend yesterday’s conference. McCoy de Leon and Kokoy De Santos will also join the cast.

Burado will be directed by Manny Palo. He helmed Julia’s past shows, Muling Buksan Ang PusoDoble Kara, and the upcoming teleserye 24/7. Darnel Joy Villaflor, who worked with Julia in Asintado and Nadine in several episodes of On The Wings of Love will co-direct the project.

As of this writing, ABS-CBN has yet to announce the airing date of the series. The management has plans to shoot some of the scenes in the Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, and India.
