My Top 5 Favorite Characters in Genshin Impact

In Genshin Impact, each of us has our own favorite characters. In all honesty, I have quite a lot of them and personally kind of like over twenty characters. I have been playing daily since the day of its release and I do think that I have enough information to pick my favorites out of the bunch.

This may seem like bragging but I reached level sixty in the past month and a half. I spent quite a little money on Battlepass and Welkins, but I have never spent buying Genesis Crystals at all, due to the fact that they are expensive. I am like literally playing Genshin Impact for fifteen minutes a day before Version 3.0 came out. Knowing this, you can definitely tell that I have fun and I love playing this game.

My character collection

Moving forward, here is my character collection in my nearly two years of playing the game daily. The characters with stars are the ones that are my favorites. I do not base my likes and dislikes on meta-tier lists.

Again, this may seem like a brag again but every character that has a star has their own artifact set and weapon that they do not share with other characters. In my gaming essence, I prioritize collection and individual luxury for my characters. I play those I deem likable and without further ado, here are my top five favorite Genshin Impact characters.

My Top 5 Favorite Genshin Impact Characters

1. Razor

Razor is my first favorite Genshin Impact character. During the release of the game, he is the first DPS I utilize. In addition, for a person like me with raw knowledge and who does not understand the mechanics of the game, Razor is pretty helpful. All I do when I utilize him is just left-click. Forgive a noob like me, but early in the game’s release, I did not understand what elemental reactions do at all. So in the end, I only rely on the basic attack usage, giving me a kind of like braindead character version vibe.

However, for me that is his strong point, you just need to left-click multiple times since his strength is in doing physical damage to the enemies. Currently, my Razor is on full constellation, uses the Serpent Spine claymore, and utilizes a 4-set Gladiator artifact set. I just stick to what I know, click and deal damage, that is all. Knowing this, Razor has been with me since the start of my journey and he is definitely one of my favorites.

2. Venti

Let’s move on to a five-star limited character now, okay? I consider myself pretty lucky in gacha games. Since gacha games utilize gambling, I usually get good results out of it. In the release of the game, my first forty pulls gave me two five-star characters. One of them is Jean, the Dandelion Knight and the other is Venti, the Drunken Tone-Deaf Bard. During the hay days, Venti is a pretty overpowered character, so he easily became a favorite. Literally, he is at the top of the meta-tier list.

You just spam his burst and it will suck the enemy near it spinning all around and getting damaged. It just makes the battle mechanics comfortable for you. Literally, Hoyoverse created heavier enemies to combat this abuse of burst by Venti. In addition, his E skill also helps in exploration because climbing mountains are always a hassle. I mean, who does not love a strong character with a childish attitude that gets drunk all the time?

My Venti currently uses the Stringless bow and a four-piece Viridescent Venerer set, which is considered to be one of the strongest artifact sets in Genshin Impact. The first featured limited five-star character is my most loved character. Along with Razor, they joined me in my journey for almost two years already, so they definitely mean a lot to me.

3. Hu Tao

Who does not love this mischievous funeral parlor owner? Hu Tao has seen it all, both the dead and the living. She is my first five-star DPS character in the Genshin Impact and I actually worked hard for rolls to get her. Her playstyle kind of matches my gambling style in pulling for characters. Her E skill reduces her health bar as she gets a power-up and deals pyro damage. The lower her health bar the stronger damage she deals, making her one of my favorite characters to use.

That is a really risky move if you do not have a shield generator in the team. However, that is why Hu Tao is so fun, you get to experience the bliss of risking your own life to deal huge amounts of damage. In addition, her burst gives her life as well for every enemy hit. In the end, she can save herself as well. Talk about a pretty self-sufficient character.

Furthermore, I would love for my Hu Tao to get her first constellation so that she can be more overpowered. Currently, my Hu Tao uses her signature weapon and utilizes the four-piece Crimson Witch set which is highly beneficial for her.

4. Zhongli

We finally met the rich archon. Probably why he has a really tough shield because he paid a good amount of money for it. Do you get it? Kidding aside, Zhongli has one of the toughest shields in the game. It makes you feel sorry for the enemies and mobs attacking you because you can feel somewhat invincible.

Moving on, if you do not want to take damage or want to limit damage received, then Zhongli is a tailormade character for it. He equips a strong burst plus an E skill that creates a shield to protect your character. Currently, my Zhongli utilizes the Deathmatch spear plus a four-piece Tenacity of the Millelith artifact set.

This may be a joke to you, but I do think this character made me conscious of taking even a tiny bit of damage. I always want to have full health in my gameplay.

5. Kamisato Ayato

Let us move on to Ayaka’s brother. Kamisato Ayato is a hydro sword-wielding character in Genshin Impact. He is one of my most current five-star characters and he is utilized currently in my team. I kind of get like a few Razor vibes from him. Instead of the left-click hitting with Razor, I use the E-skill in Ayato first then proceed to braindead gaming by left-clicking. This character probably got stuck with my current party lineup because I have nothing else to do in this game since I reached level sixty.

Pairing him up with an Electro Sub-DPS then you can go ham with the electro-charged reaction. My Kamisato Ayato currently runs the Black Sword weapon and a four-piece Echoes of an Offering artifact set.

Clearly if you do not want to think much, then go for the left-clicking characters. Kidding aside, we all have our own playstyles in Genshin Impact and it is best to enjoy those playstyles with the characters you deem as your favorites. In my case, based on my top five list, most of them give me comfort in a non-thinking gaming experience which makes me enjoy it even more.
