In an exclusive telecast of the Miss Philippines Earth 2020 coronation on GMA Network on July 5, Sunday, viewers witnessed the pageant be done online for the very first time in its 20-year history.

The virtual competition was decided to push through in order to continue promoting the advocacy of environment care and protection while putting the candidates and staff’s safety as the highest priority.

Roxanne Allison Baeyens earned the crown and title, as passed on by Miss Philippines Earth 2019 Janelle Lazo Tee. She also received the Social Media award.

Roxanne is an artist from Baguio City. She talked about culture in the region. “I get really thrilled when I have the opportunity to showcase my culture with pride. This costume symbolizes the strength and stamina of women from Cordillera. Proud Igorota, Proud Filipina!”

A proud Tourism Management graduate, she aims to use her reign as a platform on helping the planet as #WomanOfTheEarth: “The other day I thought of asking my neighbor if he had plastic items that would no longer be used. With what I was given, I created a feeding container for strays.”

Currently, Roxanne is participating in various fund-raising drives for frontliners and unfortunate communities struggling in this pandemic.
