It’s the experience, not the crown, that makes a queen truly shine, and for Justine Felizarta, this is undeniably true. Concluding her Miss Tourism World 2022 journey, she came in second, finishing as 1st runner-up.

While she may have been so close to clinching the crown, nevertheless, Justine did a commendable job. The pageant was held on December 10, Saturday in Vietnam. Besting out 38 other candidates, she also snagged the award for Best in Long Gown.

During the final question, Justine was asked about the lessons she learned while in Vietnam that she would bring back to her own country. Delivering a strong and confident answer, here was her response.

“Travelling to Vietnam is very special to me because this is actually my first time here and it’s also my first time to travel outside the Philippines after the pandemic. And I must say that it has made me open my eyes to travelling again because I was able to witness heritage sites such as Trang An which is a UNESCO World Heritage site here. And what I have learned here is that the beauty of a place is in its culture, historical places, tradition, and most of all, the warmth, and the hospitality of all you [Vietnamese] people because you made us all [the candidates] feel like it is home. And I hope when I share my experiences to the Filipino people, they would love to be here in Vietnam as well and use Tourism to connect with others again.”

As one of the final two during the finale, in the end, it was Fiilipino-Japanese Erina Hanawa that won her country its first ever crown. Meanwhile, completing the list of runner-ups were Vietnam (2nd runner-up), Russia (3rd runner-up), and Nigeria (4th runner-up).

Finishing also as first runner-up at Miss World Philippines, Justine was then appointed as Miss Tourism World Philippines. This finally gave her the chance to represent the country at an international pageant.

Quite well-known in the Philippine pageant circuit, she first competed in Binibining Pilipinas 2015, placing in the Top 15. She would eventually come back and compete in 2021 before crossing over to Miss World Philippines 2022.

Congratulations to you, Justine! Thank you for representing out country and giving your best. Well done and we’re very proud of you!
