Jujutsu Kaisen 0 is heading to Philippine Cinemas

SM cinema announced that Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be on the Philippine big screen on June 22.

The film opened in Japan last December 24, 2021, and instantly became the highest-grossing anime film of that year. Now, the film is still climbing the ladder for the all-time highest-grossing anime film as it premieres worldwide.

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 will be the prequel movie of the Jutjutsu Kaisen anime series. The film will not include the main characters of the series except Satoru Gojo. Yuta Okkutsu who was only mentioned in the series will be the center of the story. It takes place in events that happened one year before the main story.

The story goes with Yuta Okkutsu’s childhood friend, Rika. She haunts him after her tragic accident. She became a monstrous cursed spirit that protects Yuta. Yuta decided to isolate himself but Satoru Gojo has other plans to help him control Rika. Yuta then enrolled to Jujutsu Highschool to train his power.

The movie also includes Yuta’s classmates from the series. They are the freshman version of Toge Inumaki, Maki Zenin, and fan favorite, Panda. Suguru Geto from the main series is expected to be the antagonist of the film.

The story is based on Gege Akutami’s manga prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen Zero Tōkyō Toritsu Jujutsu Kōtō Senmon Gakkō (Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical School).
