A country that is known for its unique wildlife, Jenny Ramp chooses the Philippine Hanging Parrot as inspiration. The costume, created by Kayvan Salazar, is not only vivid and lovely, but it also conveys a significant message.

Locally known as ‘Kulasisi’, The costume follows the parrot’s striking colors.
In an Instagram post, Jenny states the following:

“Known for its striking green plumage, with its forehead, throat, and lower back tinged with red, and cheeks tinged with blue.”

Threatened by habitat loss, and trapping for illegal wildlife trade, the Philippine Hanging Parrot is now classified as “critically endangered”. This indicates that there is a very high chance of its extinction in the wild soon.

Using the pageant as a platform to raise awareness, Jenny believes that this year’s theme highlights the importance of these causes. Stating that it “is vital in creating awareness of all animals around us and their significance in our lives”.

Miss Earth 2022 will finally take its on-ground coronation on November 29 at Okada Manila. As of the moment, most of the activities are being held online but in the following weeks, the contestants are expected to make their way to The Philippines.

Once completed, the pageant will then continue with physical activities leading up to the finals. Jenny, being the host delegate, will be fighting for our 5th Miss Earth Crown.
