iPad 9th Generation: Entry-level device to Apple’s ecosystem

The iPad 9th Generation was not the flashiest nor the biggest announcement when Apple released it. But it is a low-cost apple product one can consider having should they want to enter and experience the Apple ecosystem.

Last year September 2021, Apple introduced its latest iPad Gen 9. For its price point, it is an entry-level device. However, it has new cutting-edge features inside of it like what the flagship models offer. With that, here are some features this latest generation of iPad actually offers.

iPad’s Finish

iPad Gen 9 comes only in two colors – Silver and Space Grey. This device looks the same as its predecessors. Having an aluminum body that is slightly thicker than the iPad Air and Pro models.

Display

Just like the iPad’s previous models, this latest generation offers a 10.2-inch Retina Display. More to that, its display can give us 500 nits of brightness. And it offers a True Tone Display, unlike its previous predecessor iPad 8th Gen. iPad 9th Gen is Apple’s second smallest display, only after the iPad Mini.

Apple Pencil support continues to be included in this device. And there is Smart Connector so the iPad works with the Smart Keyboard. And it still has the Home Button that integrates the ever-reliable Touch ID of Apple.

Performance and Battery

This iPad is powered by Apple’s A13 Bionic Chip. This was the same chipset used in the whole iPhone 11 lineup last 2019. It is without a doubt that this chipset, despite being three years old in the market, still runs and performs smoothly. Out of the box, the iPad 9th Generation comes with the latest iPadOS 15 version.

The latest model has a built-in 32.4 watt-hour rechargeable lithium-polymer (Li-Po) battery. Apple claims this iPad to go up to 10 hours of searching the web via Wi-Fi or watching videos.

Though this still rocks a lightning port, instead of the USB Type C port that is in other iPad models. But the great thing to consider is that inside the box, it comes with a 20-watt charger. iPhones could never, though!
