HORI7ON sets sail with new fandom name ‘ANCHOR’
Fans of HORI7ON are no longer nameless as the upcoming global pop group revealed the fandom’s branding, ANCHOR.
HORI7ON is a seven-piece boy band composed of Vinci, Kim, Kyler, Resyter, Winston, Jeromy, and Marcus. The members were assembled after winning the idol survival reality show Dream Maker, a collaboration between the Philippines and South Korea.
After claiming their respective spots as winners, HORI7ON has been touring the Philippines to perform for various mall shows. They have also penetrated radio and television guesting as part of their local promotion before flying to South Korea to train.
On Saturday, HORI7ON embarked on a last major event in the Philippines ahead of its debut journey abroad. Through their first fan meeting titled Hundred Days Miracle, the group also took the chance to name, at last, their fandoms now to be called ANCHORs.

Prior to the reveal, HORI7ON first took to Twitter to hold an official fandom name contest among their followers. Supporters were involved in the process and had seven days to give suggestions and a brief explanation behind their proposals.
Consequently, the move received an overwhelming response, as seen in the nearly 500 entries they obtained. The management and the members then handpicked their top choices until ANCHOR was selected to represent the fandom.
According to the septet’s official account, ANCHOR means that the fans will become the compass of the boat that is HORI7ON. The name is an ode to how the fandom will help the group navigate into their journeys from this time forward.
Meanwhile, Vinci, the acting leader of the soon-to-debut HORI7ON, expressed his delight during the announcement. He said in a statement,
“We officially have a fandom name now! Ang tagal niyong [ginustong] magka-name kayo and finally, you have [one] and it’s ANCHOR. I hope you love it [the same way that] we love it because it’s you guys.”
The rest of the bandmates agreed and shared the same sentiment as their fans. They consider the name a reflection of their identity and collective vision.
