Filipina actress and singer MayMay Entrata is teaming up with K-Pop idol Jung Wooseok from the South Korean multi-national boy band Pentagon

MayMay broke the news on Wednesday through an announcement on her Instagram page. With a short teaser for the upcoming song titled Autodeadma, she also revealed her partner for the new music release. Joining her in the comeback is Pentagon’s Wooseok.

MayMay rose to fame after winning the reality television show Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in 2016. Since then, she has starred in various shows and films before pursuing a music career.

On the other hand, Wooseok debuted in 2016 as a member of Pentagon. He holds the position of main rapper of his band and has also launched several solo tracks.

MayMay and Wooseok’s collaboration

According to a report by Manila Bulletin, the project of Maymay and Wooseok will be released under ABS-CBN’s Star Pop. It will be the former’s pilot partnership with an international artist prior to making her name through Amakabogera and Pueda Ba.

Meanwhile, Star Pop explained the inspiration behind Autodeadma, the title of Maymay and Wooseok’s future track. The label said it tackles the toxic culture of other people who always have something to say about one’s success.

Moreover, deadma is a Filipino colloquial term and a short form of the word dead malice. It is the act of being nonchalant about specific matters. Hence, Autodeadma aims to teach everyone how to consciously ignore remarks and criticism that won’t do any good.

Supporters of Maymay and Wooseok expressed their excitement about the outcome of the collaboration. The move is not only a significant accomplishment for the two artists but also the music industries of the Philippines and South Korea.

MayMay and Wooseok’s Autodeadma will come out on music platforms beginning Friday, April 28.
