Here’s the list of winners for the Gawad Sining Awards 2020!

We have to accept the fact that we can no longer enjoy film festivals because of the restrictions and all. But this must not stop us from supporting the artistry of our local filmmakers.

A way to celebrate Filipino’s talent in filmmaking

Last year, Gawad Sining Short Film Festival announced its comeback through digital means. Before the pandemic,  this is a yearly event with a one-week full-house screenings (and awards night) at the Cine Adarna of UP Film Institute. Its festival director Onin Estrella is a Filipino film director who started the great tradition.

Quality LGBTQ short films

Indeed, the organizers still aim to uplift and inspire the young (and young at heart) filmmakers by showcasing their craft through this short film competition. The theme focuses on LGBTQ stories of any genre. This includes romance, boys love, drama, comedy, action, suspense, and thriller.

Finally, the Gawad Sining Awards was held virtually this night, 7 PM January 15, 2021. The jury consists of festival director Onin Estrella, award-winning independent filmmaker Jay Altajeros, and multi-awarded businessman, actor, producer, and philanthropist RS Francisco.
