Google Search and its new features help verify sources

Nowadays, it is a lie to say that you do not rely on the internet for information, nonetheless, of course, we must make sure that they do not rely on fake news but the most trustworthy sources. And today, the new Google Search Features gives us an easier way to do just that.

Google adds the “About this result,” “About this author,” and “About this page” sections. With its additional suggested options, it indeed provides more details to facilitate online searches.

The search engine everyone uses will also add the “Perspectives” carousel. Here, it shows websites with different points of view regarding your search query.

Starting with the new Google Search features already active, the About this result option. It provides the origin of a selected online result, giving a short description of the website’s owner and services. In addition, the new feature answers why Google suggested it on your search results page.

If you want to access it, you can do so by searching for anything on Google. Next, you can do two things, pick a result and click or tap the three dots beside it to reveal the About this result window.

Subsequently, as suggested by the name (and obviously), the About this author tells you about the writer of an article. Try searching for me on Google and clicking on the three dots beside the search result!

Meanwhile, the About this page provides more information about the topic and source of a specific page.

The search engine also acknowledges insufficient information for some queries, or results change too quickly. However, it may not have high confidence in the overall quality of the results.

Different from the other features, it hasn’t launched yet. In the near future, Google says it will become available on desktop and mobile for US users.
