Gong Yoo’s official Instagram account has reached 1.9 million followers in a span of three days
Famous Korean actor Gong Yoo’s official Instagram account has reached 1.9 million in three days.
Gong Yoo is one of the most popular Korean celebrities of this generation. His acting credits include The Coffee Prince, Train to Busan, and Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.
It was only on December 1 when the actor’s agency, Management Soop, announced the opening of the Instagram account. His handle is @_gongyoo_official_. As stated by the agency
“Thank you to all the fans who always support Gong Yoo. We opened an official Instagram account to convey the daily life of the actor Gong Yoo to all the fans. Gong Yoo has no other social media and this account is directly managed by Management Soop.”
Millions of fans of the actor are happy that Gong Yoo finally has his social media account. However, it should be noted that it is managed by his agency.
The first post on the actor’s Instagram account is a squid dish. This is a fun easter egg to the fans pertaining to his appearance on Netflix’s global hit Korean series Squid Game. In it, he played a man who recruits contestants and plays ddakji (paper flipping) with them.
The post that followed the squid dish is him wearing a jersey with the name “Gong” and the number “30” written on it.
Fans of the actor know that he’s part of an upcoming Netflix sci-fi series, The Silent Sea. That’s why they were delighted to see him give a nod to it as he posted a photo of himself with the cast of the series on December 2.
The series will premiere on December 24th on Netflix. It will star Bae Doona and Lee Joon, alongside the actor.
The Silent Sea is set in the year 2075 when the depletion of natural resources has devastated Earth. It tells the story of an elite team sent on a special mission to an abandoned research base on the moon.
