Flip off exes with Paolo Sandejas’ “BORED? (hope you’re happy)”
Following the release of “Liquid Courage” 4 months ago, Paolo Sandejas dropped his latest and first single for 2023!
“BORED? (hope you’re happy) tells a story we all know too well. Remember that person you dated that only messages you when it’s convenient for them? That guy who left your messages on read to do God knows what? Or that girl that played with your feelings just for kicks? What if they messaged one sunny evening with an ominous “Wyd, bored:)”? That’s the meaning behind Paolo Sandejas’ latest single, entitled “BORED? (hope you’re happy) produced by Fern.
Paolo noted that his new song is about self-love and that we should always put ourselves first before other people. According to him, “You deserve better than someone who only calls you when they’re bored.”
“As someone who has been known for writing sad breakup songs, I wanted to write something more empowering to uplift people who might feel that they were not valued by someone they cared about. This song is meant to be an anthem that you can sing and dance to in your room to cheer you up.”

For this song, Paolo openly experimented with synthesizers for this single, taking inspiration from the 80s synth wave. To go along with this theme is a vibrant and playful visualizer that you can watch here!
“The track was originally supposed to only be titled BORED, but I really wanted to add “hope you’re happy” as it’s the main lyrical hook of the chorus. I really love how it’s such a passive-aggressive way to tell someone that you’re on to better things now”
BTS helping Paolo
International K-POP sensation BTS V had also recognized Paolo’s lyricism and song in a prior release. In a driving vlog, Kim Tae-hyung sang Paolo’s song “Sorry” along with other songs in his playlist. This definitely put some attention on the up-and-coming artist, to which he gives deep appreciation.

Paolo already took the song to his multiple shows around Metro Manila. Like his fellow musicians, Paolo continues to make name for himself and find an audience that he can wholeheartedly dedicate his craft.
Ahead of this single’s release, Paolo has already been performing it on his recent gigs around the metro. There’s no denying that he continues to create a name for himself across the local music scene with his recent releases.
Paolo recently performed in Thanksgiving gig in Jess & Pat’s and performed in SYQL Productions’s NEW YEAR NEW SCENE Party event with other local acts like Ena Mori, Munimuni, SOS, Syd Hartha, Ciudad, Valentine’s Gig at Uptown Bonifacio. UP Fair Cosmos also had a stage for the young artist, with many more to come this early 2023 in time for his ‘Bloom EP’ release.
