Filipina singer-actress Frencheska Farr wins acting award at Micheaux Film Festival

Frencheska Farr was named Outstanding Dramatic Actress at the Micheaux Film Festival. The former Kapuso actress and singer won for her performance in the short film “Harana.”

The ‘Are You The Next Big Star?’ singer just shared a photo of her award on Instagram. She dedicated her win to “the Filipino people and everyone fighting the good fight.”

Frencheska also said a big thank you to the team behind “Harana,” and all her friends, family, and loved ones who supported her from the beginning.

What an amazing experience! #Harana was awarded Outstanding Music and I won Outstanding Dramatic Actress at the #micheauxfilmfestival!!!

“Harana” is about a homesick Las Vegas lounge singer trying to connect with her daughter growing up back in the Philippines.

In fact, the short film by Marie Jamora aims to shed light on overseas Filipino workers in the US.

Moreover, “Harana” also took home the Micheaux Film Festival award for Outstanding Music.
