DC x Slayer Collection Launch: Unforgettable Performances and Valley of Chrome’s Final Philippine Show for 2024
The much-anticipated DC x Slayer Collection launch event unfolded in a crescendo of excitement and energy, leaving attendees with a night to remember. Hosted by John Joe and featuring captivating performances from renowned bands, the evening celebrated the convergence of two iconic brands – DC Shoes and Slayer.
Jan Marron Villapando, DC Shoes Marketing Supervisor, kicked off the night by expressing gratitude to the enthusiastic audience, acknowledging the challenges faced in bringing the DC x Slayer Collection to the Philippines. Despite delays and shipment issues, the collection is set to drop in February.
“This much-anticipated DC x Slayer Collection is a collaboration that channels over four decades of Slayer’s rebellious soundtrack. Slayer’s music has always been synonymous with pushing against authority and defying conventions. Their music has resonated with the skateboarding and street lifestyle of DC Shoes, and we are proud to continue this legacy of defiance,” said Jan Marron.
DC x Slayer Collection
For those fortunate few who pre-ordered, they have scheduled shipments for this coming February, while they strongly urge others to act swiftly given the limited availability. The collection will be available regularly on the website (www.dcshoes.com.ph) and all DC Stores nationwide, as well as selected Grind Philippines stores. The event, proudly sponsored by DC Shoes Philippines, Primer Group of Companies, Numinous Events in conjunction with the venue partner Balcony Music House, set the stage for a night brimming with Slayer covers and the raw power of heavy music. Capturing every electrifying moment, the event was also immortalized by the talented photographers DaddyRakista and The Gothic Teacher, ensuring that the memories of this unforgettable night will be cherished for years to come.
ORCA
The evening unfolded with a high-energy performance by ORCA, setting the tone for an electric night ahead. Juan Jose also teased the audience with promises of DC item giveaways, building anticipation for what was to come. VIE took the stage next, delivering a heavy performance that left the audience in awe.
SKYCHURCH
John Joe kept the momentum alive with giveaways. SKYCHURCH followed with a mesmerizing set, engaging the audience and creating an atmosphere of pure musical exhilaration. Furthermore, ARCADIA took to the stage next, delivering a set that left the crowd breathless. Another round of giveaways added an element of surprise and delight, keeping the energy levels high.
VALLEY OF CHROME
The climax of the night arrived with VALLEY OF CHROME. The band graced the stage for their last Philippine show for a while since their front man, Rogel Simon will be moving overseas. The audience also poured their hearts and souls into a performance like no other, creating an emotional and unforgettable atmosphere. The band covered the Slayer Track, Raining Blood and ended their set with a hair-raising performance of one of their biggest hit songs, Forever Young. Lastly, John Joe closed the event with gratitude for the DC Shoes team and all the bands that performed, expressing excitement for the future of DC, and thanking everyone for celebrating the DC x Slayer Collection launch.
